Job Summary

Global Education Alliance (GEA) is continuing to grow and has recently launched GEA Türkiye to support students, agents, and partner institutions across Türkiye and Azerbaijan. GEA is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join our team based in Türkiye. The role includes developing and supporting a strong network of recruitment partners in Türkiye & Azerbaijan and working closely with GEA team members to outbound student mobility. This role requires excellent interpersonal skills and knowledge of the Turkish market recruitment landscape and partners. 

 

In addition to supporting our recruitment partners sending Turkish or Azeri students to traditional outbound destinations such as the US, Canada, and the US, this role will help plan and launch emerging destinations in Asia and the Middle East to the market in collaboration with the global GEA team. 

 

This position is based in Istanbul and directly reports to the Managing Director, GEA Türkiye.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Executing GEA’s global enrollment responsibilities and strategy in the Turkish & Azeri markets

  • Develop and execute annual marketing & recruitment plans in conjunction with the Managing Director, GEA Türkiye and GEA’s wider team

  • Building and activating a network of leading Turkish & Azeri agency partners to collaborate with GEA Türkiye to enroll outbound students

  • Supporting GEA Türkiye to plan and launch emerging destinations for the Turkish market, including Asian or Middle East study destinations

  • Attending agency or university recruitment events on behalf of GEA Türkiye

  • Providing exceptional support to our agency and counsellor recruitment partners

  • Regularly join training sessions conducted by GEA partner institutions from various countries 

  • Ensuring GEA recruitment partners and students in the region are receiving relevant updates and new documents on time 

  • Maintaining a data-driven approach to student recruitment and monitoring enrollment trends to established and emerging destinations 

  • Maintaining maximum levels of competitor awareness, product knowledge, and market intelligence

  • Traveling occasionally to attend recruitment and outreach activities, seminars, conferences, meetings, and training events to build strong and lasting relationships with GEA team members and partners 

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in the international education/recruitment industry in Türkiye 

  • Possess a relevant and established industry network or agencies, counsellors, schools, test prep centers or similar 

  • Strong organizational and system management skills

  • Proven track record of working collaboratively in a matrix governance model

  • Strategic-minded and sales-driven, with a strong drive for results, and pressure-resilient

  • Proficient with technology and reporting programs/systems

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with our valued recruitment partners and institutions

  • Willingness to travel occasionally within Türkiye or abroad

  • Eligibility to work in the hiring location without sponsorship

  • Personal experience studying abroad considered a plus

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing, communications, business, international relations, or related areas

  • Strong working knowledge of the following languages: English and Turkish. Additional language a plus

GEA is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join our team based in Türkiye. The role includes supporting GEA Türkiye team members, GEA’s recruitment partners in Türkiye & Azerbaijan, and GEA’s global admissions team to screen and process study abroad applications from Turkish and Azeri students seeking to enroll at GEA’s partner institutions. This role requires excellent interpersonal skills and extensive knowledge of education systems and admission processes in UK, Canada, US, EU, and Australia. Additional destination training for partner institutions in Asia, Dubai, or other emerging markets will be provided to continue the professional development of the successful candidate. 

 

This position is based in Istanbul or Ankara and directly reports to the Head of Global Admissions with a dotted line to the Managing Director, GEA Türkiye.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Executing GEA’s global admission responsibilities and strategy in the Turkish & Azeri markets. 

  • Active engagement with the GEA global admissions team, GEA Türkiye team members, recruitment partners, and partner institutions 

  • Ensuring applications are screened for qualifications and genuineness before submitting to GEA partner institutions

  • Ensuring the GEA admissions systems are accurately updated and maintained 

  • Regularly join training sessions conducted by GEA partner institutions from various countries 

  • Working closely with the GEA Global Admissions Director for the continued improvement of GEA admissions systems and processing 

  • Ensuring GEA recruitment partners and students in the region are receiving relevant updates and new documents on time 

  • Maintaining a data-driven approach to admissions and monitoring enrollment trends and conversion rates. 

  • Maintaining maximum levels of competitor awareness, product knowledge, and market intelligence

  • Traveling occasionally to attend recruitment and outreach activities, seminars, conferences, meetings, and training events to build strong and lasting relationships with GEA team members and partners 

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in the international education/recruitment industry admissions experience in Türkiye 

  • Strong organizational and system management skills

  • Proven track record of working collaboratively in a matrix governance model

  • Strategic-minded and sales-driven, with a strong drive for results, and pressure-resilient

  • Proficient with technology and reporting programs/systems

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with our valued recruitment partners and institutions

  • Exemplary customer service skills and ability to foster a customer service ethic within the work team

  • Willingness to travel occasionally within Türkiye or abroad

  • Eligibility to work in the hiring location without sponsorship

  • Personal experience studying abroad or working in existing Turkish study abroad agencies considered a plus

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing, communications, business, international relations, or related areas

  • Strong working knowledge of the following languages: English and Turkish. Additional language a plus
