On July 23, 2025, Global Education Alliance (GEA) hosted an exclusive UTM Showcase Event in Xi’an, offering students and parents a firsthand look at the exceptional academic opportunities at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM)—ranked 153rd in the 2025 QS World University Rankings.

Celebrated as Malaysia’s oldest royal public university, with a prestigious 121-year legacy, UTM continues to champion innovation, academic excellence, and global connectivity. The institution is currently led by Malaysia’s First Lady, who serves as Chancellor, reflecting the university’s national importance and high standing within the region.

The Xi’an event marked a significant milestone as UTM officially introduced its International Year One Program with Dual Exemption Direct Entry for Chinese students. This specially designed pathway provides a streamlined, efficient route into UTM’s degree programs without the traditional barriers of entrance exams or language proficiency scores, underscoring GEA’s and UTM’s shared commitment to educational accessibility and excellence.

Among UTM’s most sought-after programs are Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence—ranked No. 1 in Malaysia—and Business Management, which offers an integrated Bachelor’s-to-MBA pathway. These programs are co-developed with global tech giants such as Huawei and Samsung, providing students with cutting-edge knowledge and direct industry alignment that enhances both employability and real-world readiness.

Participants at the event learned about UTM’s latest 2025 admission policies, which have been designed with international student flexibility in mind. Notably, students are exempt from the Gaokao and may apply using their high school transcripts alone. Additionally, no IELTS is required, as applicants can opt for a university-administered language test—lowering entry barriers while maintaining academic rigor.

The showcase featured engaging presentations by UTM faculty and representatives, one-on-one consultations with prospective students, and comprehensive overviews of academic life, scholarships, and career outcomes. Families attending the event were able to explore how a Malaysian education can serve as a launchpad for global success.

This event reinforces GEA’s vision of connecting ambitious students with world-class institutions and providing access to educational pathways that are inclusive, future-focused, and internationally recognized.

As GEA continues to expand its efforts across China, the UTM Showcase in Xi’an stands as a testament to the power of cross-border collaboration and the importance of creating meaningful educational bridges between nations.
