GEA India Team Visit to Malaysia: A Wrap-Up of Insights & Campus Discoveries

GEA India Team successfully completed a three-day university visit to Malaysia, gaining first-hand exposure to academic strengths, campus environments, and international student opportunities. The visit deepened understanding of Malaysia as a compelling, accessible, and resource-rich study destination for Indian and South Asian students.


Day 1 Highlights:

📍 Monash University Malaysia

The journey began at Monash University, where the team toured:

  • Medical Faculty & Teaching Facilities

  • Active Learning Rooms

  • Newly Expanded Library

The campus demonstrated high academic standards, advanced research support, and structured professional training—reinforcing Monash’s position as one of the top medical and research-focused choices in Malaysia.



📍 Le Cordon Bleu Malaysia

Discussions with the university representatives covered the growing India international student market and culinary education demand.Key insights:

  • Offers 3-month intensive short courses in both Pastry & Cuisine

  • Students receive hands-on training at professional chef level

  • Team witnessed a special dining showcase day, where students served dishes to family & friends—reflecting real-world culinary performance assessment



📍 Sunway University

The team was pleasantly surprised by the self-contained Sunway City ecosystem:

  • Directly connected to Sunway Pyramid Mall & Sunway Lagoon Theme Park

  • Safe, convenient and lively campus life for international students

  • Strong academic infrastructure with urban accessibility

Sunway showed how lifestyle convenience and education excellence can co-exist, making it highly attractive to foreign students.



📍 INTI International University & Colleges

INTI showcased a vibrant environment filled with student-produced works:

  • Interior design exhibitions

  • Hospitality showcases

  • Creative project displays throughout the campus

Notably, School of Hospitality’s partnership with Hilton allows students to gain professional industry experience with global standards.



📍 Taylor’s University

The team was captivated by Taylor’s lakefront campus:

  • Relaxed learning spaces by the waterfront

  • Resort-style yet academically rigorous atmosphere

Many team members commented that the setting felt like studying at a top-tier Australian institution—a blend of nature, architecture, and academic ambition.



Day 2 Highlights:

📍 University of Nottingham Malaysia

A campus designed like a green sanctuary:

  • Full-scale facilities including cafés, theatres, snooker areas

  • Extensive variety of food options: Malaysian, Japanese, Western, Chinese

A key feature:

  • Shuttle bus service connecting students to IOI City Mall, the largest mall in Southeast Asia—ensuring convenience without compromising serenity.



📍 University of Cyberjaya

The team explored:

  • Medical Labs

  • Multimedia Labs (Radio & Video Recording Studios)

Market conversations included India, Pakistan & Bangladesh recruitment insights, supporting strategic student matching for medical, multimedia, and allied health programs.



📍 Asia Pacific University (APU)

APU showcased its tech-forward identity:

  • Cyber Range

  • Digital & Animation Studios

  • Interior Design Workspaces

Fun discovery: each faculty has its own mascot—FinTech’s astronaut was a crowd favourite.

The team also witnessed students preparing for International Culture Night, featuring 60 performances from diverse communities across the globe.



Day 3 Highlights:

📍 Visit both Heriot-Watt University Malaysia & SEGi University

The final day provided closing discussions around program structures, research directions and international student support—rounding off three days of enriching academic immersion.




📍 Final Stop: GEA Malaysia Office 🤝✨

The last stop of the journey brought the India Team to the GEA Malaysia Office for an in-depth meeting with our Malaysia team members. Together, both teams reflected on the key highlights from the campus visits and moved into strategic discussions centered on strengthening future collaboration:

  • Enhancing integration between the India & Malaysia student markets

  • Streamlining cross-country application processes and communication flow

  • Co-hosting more regional recruitment events and virtual info sessions

  • Deepening two-way resource sharing with university partners


This face-to-face exchange not only solidified shared goals but also brought clarity to our regional development directions for the coming year. With aligned strategies and stronger operational synergy, both teams look forward to expanding GEA’s footprint and supporting more international students on their higher education pathways.



This visit reinforced Malaysia’s positioning as:
