GEA New Zealand & Singapore Roadshow – Hefei Stop Concludes Successfully

The GEA 2026 New Zealand & Singapore Autumn Roadshow successfully kicked off in Hefei with an energetic and engaging atmosphere. As a global leader in education resource integration, GEA (Global Education Alliance) once again demonstrated its strong network and influence in the international education industry.

The participating institutions and education groups included: University of Auckland, Victoria University of Wellington, University of Waikato, James Cook University Singapore Campus, UP Group, LanguageCert, Unitec, and ICL. These renowned institutions engaged directly with educators and industry professionals, providing firsthand information on global study pathways in both New Zealand and Singapore.


Sunny, GEA’s Australia & New Zealand Product Manager, delivered an inspiring opening speech themed “Embark on a Global Journey”. He introduced the advantages of studying in New Zealand, noting:

  • New Zealand’s education system is globally recognized for its high quality and practical approach.

  • Many New Zealand institutions have improved their rankings in the 2026 QS World University Rankings.

  • International students are now allowed to work up to 25 hours per week, with a minimum hourly wage of NZD 20, helping them to cover most living expenses.

Exciting Immigration Policy Updates for 2026

Starting August 2026, New Zealand will introduce new immigration pathways:

  • Master’s and PhD graduates can apply directly for permanent residency with a valid job offer.

  • Undergraduate graduates will be eligible to apply for residency after working for one year, significantly shortening the residency timeline and enhancing post-study career prospects.


Engaging Industry Discussions

Throughout the fair, institutional representatives held in-depth consultations with educators in Hefei on:

  • University admissions pathways

  • Major selection strategies

  • Application and visa procedures

  • Long-term career and immigration planning

Attendees expressed that this roadshow helped them gain a clearer understanding of the value, affordability, and life-to-immigration pathway offered by studying in New Zealand and Singapore.
