Strengthening Partnerships and Preparing for 2026 Recruitment
On August 19, 2025, GEA and Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) successfully hosted the Elite Counselor Workshop in Zhengzhou. The event was designed not only to give a final push for QMUL’s 2025 intake but also to lay a solid foundation for the upcoming 2026 admissions cycle.

The workshop brought together senior education consultants from Zhengzhou’s study-abroad industry, creating an invaluable platform for exchange on international education trends and career planning. Through GEA’s support, QMUL was able to strengthen connections with its regional partners, enhance its brand visibility in the market, and open up more pathways for Chinese students to pursue high-quality education in London.

Throughout the session, QMUL’s representatives highlighted the many advantages that set the university apart. As a member of the prestigious Russell Group, QMUL is uniquely located in central London, offering students the benefit of an integrated campus environment just minutes away from the city’s most iconic landmarks. London itself remains the world’s most popular destination for international students, having held the top ranking for seven consecutive years, and QMUL’s strong academic reputation combined with comparatively affordable tuition and accommodation makes it an attractive option for students seeking both quality and value.

The workshop also introduced participants to QMUL’s wide range of academic offerings. At the undergraduate level, flexibility in admissions makes it accessible to students with diverse qualifications, including those presenting A-levels with Chinese language subjects or AP scores without the need for a U.S. high school diploma. At the postgraduate level, QMUL has developed programmes that welcome applicants from both general and specialist backgrounds, covering fields such as finance, law, data, advanced engineering, robotics, and astrophysics. The university also reaffirmed its strong commitment to doctoral research, offering 60 scholarships through the China Scholarship Council to support the next generation of scholars.

One of the most engaging parts of the event came during the discussion session with counselors. Together, they explored strategies for future recruitment and shared practical feedback based on their direct work with students. Counselors emphasized the importance of giving greater visibility to QMUL’s scholarships, as financial support often plays a decisive role in student decision-making. They also encouraged the university to continue aligning its academic programmes with career outcomes, highlighting the value of internships, industry collaborations, and career-focused modules that prepare students for professional success.

By the close of the workshop, there was a clear sense of strengthened partnership between QMUL and its local education representatives. The discussions not only reinforced QMUL’s academic strengths and global reputation but also showcased the university’s responsiveness to the needs of students and partners in China. With a shared commitment to expanding opportunities and supporting student success, the Zhengzhou workshop marked another important step forward in bringing world-class education within reach of more Chinese students.
